The Labrador Breed

Labradors make excellent family pets, they are intelligent, loyal, hardy dogs.

Traditionally bred for retrieving, they are wonderful companions, and are siuted to being a loving family pet or a working dog, and what is so wonderful is that they can be either or both at the same time.

Labradors should be strong looking, short coupled with a short coat.

Labradors should have a nice broad head, a strong chest and a thick 'Otter' like tail. They should have good bone and stand upright and square with a leg in each corner.

Labradors are very good tempered and gentle dogs and are well known for being good with children. They are very trainable and have a desire to please you at all times.

There is a saying that 'Labradors are born half trained' and from my experience this does seem to be the case.

Your Labrador will be your best friend.
You will be his life, his love and his leader.
He will be faithful and true until the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
