I can't remember a time when we did not have a Labrador as a member of our family! As a child we always had a Labrador as a pet and now we are lucky enough to have the facilities to breed and train them.

We breed all three colours, Yellow, Chocolate and Black
Most of our Labradors work, 'Picking up' on local shoots here in Devon, but they are also very much loved pets.

We breed for temperament, health and soundness, we like a good looking Labrador with a nice head and plenty of bone. We concentrate on breeding high health Labradors, all our dogs are hip and elbow scored and have annual eye tests with clear certificates. All our dogs are DNA tested for PRA-prcd, EIC, CNM and SD2 and HNPK as a minimum, and most of them are tested for many more conditions too and they are all CLEAR. Each dogs health details and pedigree are on the ‘Our Dogs’ page. Health is very important to us as many of the puppies we breed go on to be family pets.

We are immensely proud of all our dogs and the puppies we breed, and we are always delighted when people who have had our puppies in the past come back to us for their next puppy and recommend their friends and family to come and see us for their Labrador puppies too.

All puppies bred at Lewtrenchard & Breazle are endorsed with the Kennel Club ‘R’ and ‘X’, in accordance with its Regulations, ‘R’ restricting the registering of its progeny and ‘X’ stopping the issue of an export pedigree. This means that you will not be able to register any puppies from a dog bred by us, or to send it abroad. This is done to protect our puppies and to ensure that our line, which has taken decades to build up, continues to produce healthy stock only bred by us.
